OK, when you close the register at end of day you get a great sales report showing the value of goods sold and type of payment. Also in the 'Reports' section you can get a sales report by item/category which is nice because if you reset merchandise data every month you can get sales by item for month to date and year to date (or as many months back as you want up to 12).
But unless I've missed it, I don't think there's a simple report showing daily sales by item.
How easy would it be Dale to have an option to copy each sale (by item) to a daily sales file and then at end of day have an option when you close the register to print it off. If you say 'No' it would then either delete it or allow it to be 'blanked' the next day and over-written?

Replying to myself again....
The 'Total By Stock #' report shows sales by item number since merchandise data was last reset, so if you reset merchandise data on a daily basis and print this report off when you close the register, you get a daily sales report by item #. Obviously you have to remember to reset merchandise data when you close the register so the report is at 'zero' the next day.
You can then use the 'History by Stock #' report to monitor cumulative sales for the month and for any period back to a maximum of 12 months, so if you select the right number of months you can watch daily sales and sales by month to date and year to date.
So I guess that covers most needs and no extra feature is therefore required
