I know some people who work in the resteraunt and clothing industries who use or have experimented with DHPOS and a few of them said that a good feature to have would be addons or sub-items.
I looked into this feature and have noticed that it would be very handy in places where a customer orders something that either has everything but one or two things or only has one or two things.
For example, let's say that a customer wants a cheese burger with only pickles and ketchup. What you could do is, once you select that, you see a message that says, "Special Order?" and has the options "Yes" and "No". When you indicate that it is a special order you are given a screen that has a list of options and 2-digit numbers next to those options. To select an option, you type the 2-digit number and that option is instantly added to the order.
You could make these options count as items in the stock table so they don't take up extra space.
Another feature my friends pointed out would be good is specialized "Item Fields".
The fields become a part of the description. For example, let's say that you work in a small department store and for inventory reasons you want to have all of the recipts print out what size the clothes were.
When the employee selects the item a small screen shows up with a custom question written in and a field to enter the answer. In this case, the screen would say "Clothing Size?" and have a field to enter the information in. Let's say you enter 16, the description would say, "ADULT SWEATER SIZE 16".
I don't know how easy these would be to program in and they are not absolutely neccessary. However, I thought it would be good to mention them.

I think the term for these are matrixes - basically tables linked to products for e.g. clothing sizes, colours etc.
I'm not sure if this will make it's way into DHPOS as it's a fairly specialised feature and as we know Dale tries to make DHPOS as universally usable as possible.
Without a great deal of user interest, and the spare space in DHPOS itself - I'm not sure if it would make it in.
