Only top line of pole displays & other questions

Post by Jason » Sat Jun 25, 2005 4:53 pm

I have a pole display made by a company in Taiwan. Only the top line of text is being displayed. The model is ICS-2002 and the manufacturer is Puritron. Any idea how to get the second line to display?

2nd. My cash drawer has slots to up checks/credit card receipts in. I'd just as soon not have the drawer opern after a credit/check sale is there any way to do this?

3rd. I swipe credit cards with a wedge and process through an internet site with the receipt printing out on the same printer I us for the DHPOS system. When I print the credit card receipt it does not cut the tape. Is there a simple way to send just the cutter code to the printer?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Logic Controls pole displays

Post by Dale Harris » Sat Jun 25, 2005 9:48 pm

Jason,

#1, So far we (meaning Jon) have only been able to get the pole display feature to work with Logic Controls brand pole displays. The reason for this is that we have only been able to get our hands on Logic Controls brand pole displays to test with the program.

To get the POS program to work with a Puritron ICS-2002 pole display we would need one inhand so that we can beat it into submission. Want to donate yours along with a programming manual for it? :)

#2, Nope

#3, I have no idea how to modify the software from the credit card processing company to send the cutter bar code to the printer.

I suppose you could manually type the code into the command prompt each time - but perhaps it would just be easier to rip the paper off by hand?

#2:
If they are two seperate drawers, disconnect the media drawer.
If not, I guess you could install a lock on the media drawer (padlock?)

Jason,

Have you tried contacting the vendor directly, say through a tech-support 800 number...and see if they can offer any advice? If anyone would know how to help you with getting the cutter bar to work, it'd be them.

Usually the pole display goes into the next line automatically. Have a search on the internet for a test/setup program for the display and see if it works when you send a test message from it.

The drawer will have slots are in the front and the slips just sit between the cash tray insert and the base/front of the drawer.

Regarding the printer, if the credit card program is a windows one, then you could probably use a manufacturer specific driver for the printer, which should autocut.
