Hi,
This is a mistake done by my cashier. There are certain item in my store that the price is 0.00 and after the order then the price can be determined.
Therefore, when she scan the item, it shown up 0.00 which suppose to be 60.00. And she suppose to [tab] and change the price to 60.00, but she forget how to do (she is not good in english) it. SO, she continue to rung th sale with 0.00 price but cash tendered 60.00.
In this case, there are 60.00 in cash registered but on the DHPOS didn't show the 60.00 sale nor cash in register.
I know in a normal condition, a clever cashier will not do such mistake...
Cash in Reg is not same.

I'm not too sure what you mean here. The cashier was meant to ring up a 60.00 item in a sale but left it as 0.00?
If she tendered cash 60.00, DHPOS would have prompted that the cashier then owed the customer 60.00 in change.
Hence, DHPOS would not register a 60.00 sale, because your cashier never sold an item @ 60.00, she sold an item at 0.00. According to the computer, the cashier took 60.00 from the customer, and then gave it straight back. This is why your sales totals and cash in register would stay the same.
If she tendered cash 60.00, DHPOS would have prompted that the cashier then owed the customer 60.00 in change.
Code: Select all
60.00 (tender) - 0.00 (sale total) = 60.00 (change)

Yep, if the cashier enters a 60.00 item as a 0.00 item then 0.00 will be added to the "Cash in reg." total. The program cannot tell what was "supposed" to be added to the sale, it only knows what was actually entered into the sale. Or as it has been mentioned before, "Garbage in, garbage out."

yes you are right....but the problem is my cashier is not good in english...she just collect the 60.00 dollar and keep enter and complete the sale as she think everything is correct, since the POS didnt stop her.Andrew Bunn wrote:I'm not too sure what you mean here. That why when i closed the sale the cash register got 60.00 extra which she suppose the POS ask her to return to customer but in real she should collect the 60.00...
Anyway, i just need to make sure she wont make the same mistake...luckily i archieve all the journal and still can keep track of thing to check back...
OK...thanks for all the answer.
