Moderators:daleadmin, Dale Harris, Alan, Andrew
I am just asking this question as i have some doubts(i am not setting up a store but i am just curious), lets say if i have a LAN connection already, how do i setup the POS system to be able to be accessed on all coms connected to this LAN ?DO i just put the files into the shared folders?
ANyway,
I came accross this site during a search on google and i decided to drop in and have a look.

Your network must have mapped drives so, for example, you can refer to the shared drive as F: from any of the computers.
Here are the instructions from the user's guide on how to set up the program to operate over a network...

Simple
unknown,
I tried to make it as simple as possible. Do you have any specific suggestions for making it simplier?

Unknown,
If someone can't understand Dale's instructions then they have no business networking computers, they should get someone with the appropriate knowledge to do so.
It's incredibly simple, you create a GLOBAL folder on a machine to be your POS server, you share that folder across the network
You map a drive letter to that shared folder on each of your registers, and install a POS folder on each, pointing POSCONFG at the GLOBAL folder on that server.

Alright, i have made a powerpoint presentation with some screenshots, but i am not sure does that help.I tried the whole process on my network, and i think it can work.
