cash drawer wiring

Post by dezman » Tue Mar 01, 2005 9:38 pm

I have a POS system that I have been piecing together as I find parts. Right now I have a Logic Controls CR3002 cash drawer. My problem is that I do not know which pins/wires from the serial cord (db9) should connect to the four wires inside the drawer. The drawer consists of a switch to check to see if the drawer is open(2 wires) and an actuator to kick the drawer open(2 wires). I am having to hardwire this to the cord and any help would be appreciated. I have searched for a schematic for this drawer to no avail, I would have been able to see at a glance which wire was which.

cash drawer

No reciept printer present. All reciepts are on invoice, statement, etc. This drawer has only the two components in it and no connection on the back, just a 4pin plug that I have opened. It does not require power as the actuator charges for a moment and then kicks the drawer. I am trying to determine which pins on the db9 will provide the power necessary to do this. Thanks
