Dale,
I am very impressed with your software. Usually freeware/shareware is very limited and there is always a catch with functionality.
Have you ever thought about writing a layby module. This allows your registered customers to gradually payoff their total sale over a specified time frame and the system tracks and monitors their payments and balance until completion.
With a VIP customers section, you can specify a discount level for these customers so when they show their registered VIP card, the POS will automatically pickup their associated discount level.

Maybe not, If you did a setup like "All Customers with a Frequent Buyer card get ___% off their purchase or ___% off items in a certain category.
Just A Suggestion,

Some frequent buyer programs give out points. For example, 1 Point for every dollar spent and when you get 200 points, you get a $15 gift certificate. This is why you might need to keep track of frequent buyer cards.
