Upgrading To 6.20a

Post by Tina » Tue Dec 07, 2004 10:07 pm

Has anyone had any trouble uprading 6.17 to 6.20a? With 6.20a in place I can't type in a stock number into a sale. The Numbers that I type cause an invaild item error. If I hit F1 to see the stock table and type the letter next to the code it will go in that way. Is there something that I am doing wrong?

Thanks In Advance Tina

.IDX file

Tina,

It sounds like your ??????.IDX file is missing or corrupted. Easy fix. Run the POSCONFG.EXE program and go to the stock table where you can enter new items. When you enter the stock table the .IDX file will be rebuilt.

Dale,
Thanks for the reply!! I tried to do what you said. It didn't work though. 6.17 upgraded to 6.19 same problem too. Is there a way to start with a fresh (blank) stock file in 6.20a and copy the old table to it? I noticed the F5=Move/Export Lines option in the stock table... In there when you chosse option 2. Backup Stock Table, what file does that create?? Something is going on with my tables in 6.20a that I can't figure out.. If worse comes to worse I will type it all back in so I can use the latest version. I only have 65 codes in there so it's not the end of the world. I did notice that some pages in the stock had zero's and some were blank.. I hope this makes sense to you..

Thank you

Tina,

The backup option is shown BEFORE the exporting options, it is recommended to use it before using the "Continue" option to move on and see the keys for exporting the table.
