Dear Members,
I would like to know if it is possible to create my own type of X and Z reports in the format my tax office wants.
Is there a so called "project file" which I can get a hold of to write my own reports? Or can i pick the data from the txt file and write a macro which formats it into the tax office approved format ?
These tax office guys are really a pain in the neck....its either you comply to the format they want or they start digging into your books...
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Customized readings
Kaj,
There is no way to customize closing readings. However from the "Reports" you can export a sales reading to a comma delimited file that can then be loaded into any spreadsheet program and from there you can print out any report you can create.
You can also send me a copy of the format you need and it it is not too weird I can make you a program that will print it out whenever you press [F4]. You must print your report before you close the register because closing the register will erase the data needed to make the report. Another consideration is that since the report can be printed anytime that there is no way to know that the report was generated after the last sale unless you staple the regular closing report to it so that anyone can see that they have the same data.
On the "Z" reading there is nothing to format since only the "net sales" is stored. It is difficult to format only one number.

Customized Report
Hi Dale
The closing report needs to have the total sales information (current format is ok) as well as the total sales for each category. Do you think you can add this in for a new enhanced "Z" report upon closing of the register?
If you can also add this to the F4 button this would be great. So that the manager can see a copy of the sales figuers before closing the cash register.
Thanks

Category report
Kaj,
If all you need is totals by category for the day then all you need to do is to go to the "Reports" feature and print a merchandise report by category just before you close out the register.
