Hello, New user here, Is there any way to make POS not beep at the end of a scanned entry? It's very annoying when it's in fullscreen mode (the 3 second beeeeep).
Thanks,
Adam
Is there any way to completely turn off sounds in POS?

At present you can only disable the key press beep.
The 3 second beep is not POS' fault, it is windows delaying the processing of the program, making it get stuck briefly at the point where the beep is generated. I suspect you are running Windows ME, 2000 or XP.
Solution a) disconnect the system speaker (if one is present)
Solution b) run POS on a pure DOS machine, or Win 3.1/95/98 which have real DOS, instead of the emulated DOS found in ME upwards which tries to prevent many DOS programs from running properly or at all.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep
Starblazer,
The sound made when an item is scanned is the DOS BEEP command. In most versions of Windows this is translated into the Windows default sound. At least it works this way on my computer using Win '98. You can change the Windows default sound into different sounds using the control panel / sounds feature. Change your default sound to a shorter duration sound.

Okay, yeah, I figured it was the DOS beep. The reason why I wanted to see if there was a way to completely mute it was so that I dont have to turn off the ding... (The same windows sound also lets me know if there's issues with any of the servers, or if I have new e-mail).. and I really dont want to modify it.
I'll just have to live with the ding then .. Thanks!
