Perhaps I'm just too cynical, but:

1. Why does an ordinary person need to be that precise about what is in their pantry.

2. How do they intend to use the computer "when the commercial power goes out"

Well - considering many flashy fridges these days come with touch screens and barcode scanners, reminding you when milk etc is about to expire. Some will even order groceries online when you run low or in the milk example is due to expire. So I suppose such a use is not too far fetched.

As for the commercial power comment, if they did indeed refer to commercial power (I can't remember now and I am too lazy to re-click the link), then they obviously have a backup power supply. The fact that this article/post is to do with fallout shelter would indicate to me that again, they would have some kind of backup power.

I know that I would keep a copy of the latest DHPOS in my fallout shelter, on disk however - at least with my laptop, if we do get bombed - I could spend a few hours with DHPOS before the battery died.

Thats just getting a wee bit too daft that!

Amazing how having a computer will really help you when you have no power, and your larder has been blown up? If you really wanted to do an inventry - whats wrong with a bit of paper and pen??

And DHPOS doesnt tell you when the milk is going to go past its use-by date! DHPOS is a great POS system, but for an inventory I agree with Alan!
