I know this is beating a dead horse, but....
Can you make it where you can choose to us the stock # or the Vender # instead of hitting the "*" first? I run a bar and it would a little faster for my girls. they remember letters better than numbers. With so many liquors using letters is easier them and easier to setup the inventory to.
Also,
is there a way not to allow them to enter a dollar amout that is less than the amount do?
Vender #

a) at present - no, you must enter * to enter by vendor number. Reason: more people use numeric barcodes than alphanumeric vendor numbers.
Solution 1: print a barcode sheet which each barcode starting with the * followed by the vendor number. As long as your barcode symbology doesn't use * as a start/end check digit it would work.
Solution 2: Print an alphabetised list of common products with the barcodes beside them. Place this beside the register.
b) Nope again - it's either allow them to change the price...or not.

Codell,
There is no way currently in the program to make the "Vendor stock number" the default way of entering stock numbers. Pressing [*] does not seem to be too much of a chore.
If you use the "Stock table" feature of the POSCONFG.EXE program and set "Prevent price changes during a sale when using a stock table" to "YES" then the employees will not be able to change the price on an item when it is being rung up.
