First of all, I just wanted to say thanks for writing this program and providing for free.
I'm the accountant for a small hotel where the front desk staff, even with a working cash register, never punched anything in. Everything was rung in under 'no sale' and no transactions were tracked which is kind of scary considering they were responsible for restaurant charges, lotto tickets, racing forms among other things.
This program was so easy to train them on and by adding in stock codes for everything they punched in, they were able to use the existing printers already hooked up to the front desk hotel system to print their shift closings. You can imagine the relief when all they had to balance now was one shift drop instead of one for the restaurant, one for lotto's, one for the racing forms, etc.. Thanks again.
I am now considering using the program in our recently renovated lounge which closes after midnight. We currently have a cash register in there but it provides little details other than totals for shift closings, and the receipt printer works when it feels like it.
I was wondering if anyone else had wrote to ask you about having the closing sales recorded to the day the register is opened rather than when it is closed? Does this create problems I may not have considered. I'd appreciate any input you may have.
Thanks in advance.
Paul

Should work fine
Paul,
I am glad that I made life easier for your employees.
The program is used in several bars/night clubs/restaurants that close after midnight and no one has reported any problems. You will have to remember that the closing report dated, for example, 6-15-04 was actually for the sales day of 6-14-04 but that should not be too hard. When you close out the register it will give you sales totals calculated from the last time the register was closed out, not just from midnight, so that should be what you want. If you use the "sales history" feature then at the end of the month it may put the items you sold after midnight in next month's sales history but that should not really effect anything.
So I think that it will work just fine.
