Finding Dave Harris' Cash Register never came at a better time. We're really at the breaking point in our company since our POS software has problems regarding taxes. I just downloaded Cash Register so I'm still crawling in the dark. But with the its easier than normal interface I believe I could push Cash Register at our shop.
We invested in this expensive POS system with terrible customer support and we have used it for more than 5 years. I have always wanted to get rid of it since I don't like its limitations and clunky programming. I believe that Cash Register is what we're looking for minus some vital issues that I have on Cash Register so I have a few questions that I would like to ask.
On calculating the amount during a purchase, is it possible to add a discount without the usage of percentage? I'm asking this since we're running a small hardware/construction shop, people buy a few screws, a couple bags of cement, a few kilos of this and that, etc. and in our country people always want a discount on a single piece of item or the sum total of goods in addition to the problematic additional vat that was implemented.
Just in case that it isn't available on the software itself. Is there an add-on pack that would fix my issue? I really hope that it is discountable on the total along with the VAT.
Thank you for your time.

Discounts
Sulk,
Since you do not want to give a discount by a percentage I am assuming that you want to give a discount by a currency amount?
To do this, from the purchase screen press "[F9] Reductions" You can either reduce the items in only the last line entered or all the items entered into the sale so far.
If you enter a currency amount that amount will be subtracted from each piece. For example if you select to reduce "All lines" by .75 then each piece in the sale will be reduced in price by .75 (if the current price for a piece is less than .75 the price for that item will be reduced to zero.) So therfore if there are 15 pieces in the sale so far and you reduce each by .75 the total reduction will be 11.25.
However from "[F9] Reductions" you can also select "Coupons / Unit reductions" and this will allow you to subtract a currency amount from the entire sale without reducing the price on any items. For example you can take off 25.00 from the sale.
I hope you find our customer support at least slightly better than the other guys.
