Client History

Post by bboyyak1 » Mon Oct 17, 2005 11:47 am

Hi Dale and all DHES users:

Is there any feature to track a customers actual purchases, not the amount but a list of each product and date. I own a salon and it would be great to look up a clients sales history and remind/ask them about their purchase.

In addition, is there a way to edit or add more client information, ie, notes, birthdays, etc.

If these items hav been addressed, I apologize for the repeat, but after searching and reading quite a few posts, I couldn't find any answers.

And, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Dale for making such an awesome program! The above may be wishful thinking on my part, but I have to say that POS is awesome as it is now!!!!

Full Purchase Info
Can you say mucho diskspace? DHPOS only stores a certain amount of sales (or none, depending on your sales recording setting) a maximum being 10,000 which consumes about 19 megabytes.

To store full info on every sale a customer makes would soon chew space and become difficult for DHPOS to manage and display - I wouldn't expect to see every customer sale being recorded anytime soon I'm sorry.

Client Info
Everything you can record about a client is set via "Customer Information" in POSCONFG:
- ID Number
- Company Name
- Customer Name
- Address
- City, State, Zip
- Phone Number #1
- Phone Number #2
- Email Address
- Non-taxable ID number

If you don't use any of those fields for something else, you could store other data in them - however any alterations to any of the file formats is a massive task and is prone to problems - so extra info probably isn't on the horizon either.

You could easily create your own database outside of DHPOS in Access and store this info, create reports based on it etc.
