1. Instead of (or in addition to) using the "+" key to move to the "print receipt..." screen, how difficult would it be to program the "Enter" key on a blank stock number field?
2. When on the "print receipt...." screen, it seems to be more natural and speedier to have the default selection "3. Print receipt, complete sale." instead of "1. Cancel." (also seems clearer to make selection 3 simply state "3. Complete sale."

Dave G.,
Having the program total the sale when [ENTER] is pressed and the stock number is zero would not be that difficult but that is not the point. It is easy to press the [ENTER] key by accident and if the stock number is zero then you will total out the sale and then have to press [ESC] to get back to the sale. Kind of annoying. And anyway the [+] key is pretty close to the [ENTER] key so how far do you have to move your finger? There is a limit to lazyness even for me.
Several menus throughout the program have the default option set to "Do nothing, go back" and this is by choice. I assume that it is possible to get there by error (wherever "there" is) and I <u>want</u> you to have to make a choice rather than just pressing [ENTER] two or more times and then wondering, "How the heck did I get here", "what in the world does THIS do", and "Is there any hope of getting back to Kansas?"
Plus at this late date if I make a change in any of the menus then longtime users will once again be surrounding home with torches and pitchforks, and I really hate it when that happens.

If not by default, then possibly an option/options within posconfig on future release?
(On most desktop keyboards the "+" key is adjacent to the rightmost enter key however most notebook computers require a "shift" + "=" or "Function" + "+" in order to access the "+" function - can be difficult.)

On all notebooks I've used DHPOS on, I've never had to press Shift and = to subtotal. = on it's own suffices.

Another idea is to maybe press 0 or 0 and Enter since Stock Numbers must be higher than 1. Anyway, 0 isn't far from the rest of the numbers

Maybe I'm missing something..... To move from the stock number entry screen to the total screen requires the "+" key as I understand it. I've tried the "=" and the "0" key as suggested, and neither key moves to the total screen.
On both Dell notebooks I have, there is no separate "+" key as on a desktop keyboard. You can either access the "+" by depressing "Shift" and "=" (upper case "=") or depress "Fn" then the "/" key.

Pressing "=" works on my computer and pressing "0" was just a suggestion from Chris, its not employed in the software currently. What are really helpful for using this program with laptops are those external number keypads that plug into the USB port. You might wanna get one of those, it makes it easier!

Dave G.,
I tried pressing the [=] button (without holding down the [SHIFT] key) to total out a sale on both my desk top and laptop computer and it worked just fine. (This program has way too many features for me to remember even if I did write them all.)
However I do not remember when I added this to the program, but it must have been a long time ago. What version of DHPOS are you using?
The current version is 6.35
