Item Number Alignment

Is there a way to make the item numbers on the receipt left aligned? It's kinda weird how they are just floating there in the middle of the line. Is there a setting to do this, and I missed it? Also, since I only have 1 tax rate, is it possible to remove that little bit from the receipt?
There are currently no options to do either of these.
The stock number appears inset, as it is stored in the database with extra spaces in front, to fill it to the max length (13 numbers I believe).
As for the tax thing, it's been suggested before, the decision rests with Dale. I suppose it's a lot easier to leave it there, then to allow people to remove it, and then get in trouble with their tax departments.
