Hi,

We use IBM SurePOS 4694 (104) systems which are the full monty when it comes to POS.

All systems come with the Display pole, Cashdrawer, Barcode scanner, Monitor, Reciept printer.

Ok fine.. why are you telling me this?

Well, we havent actually got the systems yet but I am thinking of using the POS program offered by DHES.

The systems are just basic computers, they run windows 2000, have floppy drives, etc...

The only difference is the ports for the printer, cashdrawer and pole display. These are not serial ports!

They are special IBM RS ports. (RS231, RS232, RS242,etc...)

I have the drivers installed for them, but I need to know, is there any way to run the Pole display and cash drawer using my drivers?

The cash drawer does not run through the printer.
The formation is below:

PRINTER - RS231
CASHDRAWER - RS233
POLE DISPLAY - RS234

I know how to run my printers from the windows drivers (aprint) but I just need to know how to run the cash drawer (not via the printer) and pole display using my drivers.

Is it possible?
Thanks
Ryan

Also, I have an IBM SUREPOS keyboard which does not have F1, F2, etc... keys!

I need to know, is there any way to change the scripting to use P1, P2, etc...?

Thanks
Ryan

IBM sureones should have a keyboard mapping config.. so just map whatever to suit your needs. Thats what I did.

For the whole RS thing.. I dont have that with the sureone 4614.. i just had com ports.

Okay, cool - solved the KB problem.

4614 models dont have RS ports, they are Sureone terminals. We use SurePOS 469 models (I think SurePos is the British version of the terminal).

By the way, what OS does your terminal(s) use?

http://www.pc.ibm.com/store/products/pos/4694/ is where the specs on my terminal is.

The 4614 is the newer model of my 4694. This explains the RS problems.
