Did anyone else besides me ever notice that getting details in bug reports is like pulling teeth?

Ok, then. When you say, "Almost a blank screen" what screen are you in? What does it say on the screen.

When you want to create report "A. Total sales" the program should be asking you for a start date and end date and what report you want. It should not ask you to choose an employee. However if you choose report "B. Employee sales" then of course it will ask you to choose an employee. That way it knows to make a report for that employee.

What I think he means....

Dale,

I noticed this the other day, but forgot to mention it. When you go to the report screen <option 8 from the main POS screen>, instead of asking for your PIN, it gives you the "choose associate" screen. <List form, like when you "choose the associate who rang the sale" during a refund>.

I use v6.31 as well.

PIN's

I am assuming that mean that the program asks you to choose an employee after you select to "B. Employee sales" not when you first enter the reports function, i.e. before you see the reports menu. (See what I mean by "details"?)

In the past, after selecting "B. Employee sales" some of the versions of the program would ask for the PIN number to select the employee report to be created, assuming that you set up the program to use PIN numbers. However the "reports" need to be usable by the store manager to collect each employee's sales particularly if they are being paid commision on their sales or tips. This would not be possible if the employee's PIN number was required to create a employee's sales report. Remember that even the store's owner is not supposed to know the PIN numbers of the employees.

blank screen mean the whole screen is red and there is nothing, except there are a thick ( i mean a cursor thick) grey line on the top right corner of the screen.

When i goto REPORT, It show a screen for me to choose the associate, co i choose myself, then the next screen will let u choose for total sale, employee sale...., i pick the total sale, then it will ask u date, and u will have [+], [Tab} for diff report...all i try give me a blank screen.

I think you should be able to easily re create this problem, if u set your POS for network and associate...

lsunw,

I have tried this with and without employees, with and without PIN numbers, stand-alone and network operation. No matter what I do I get to the "reports" menu with no problems.

Can you send your ?????.POS file to me in an email so that I can try it here with your setup? daleharris@prodigy.net

Is anyone else having this problem?

Where the screen appears....

I don't know if I can speak for Isunw, but for me:

From the POS Main Menu, I select "8. Reports", enter the password, and then the 'list' pops up, instead of the PIN entry prompt. Everywhere else the PIN prompt comes up without any trouble.

I can confirm this - when you select most options from the main menu, it should prompt for a PIN number if you have PIN's enabled.

Selecting reports from the main menu, and entering a reports password (if you have one) subsequently brings up the "Select an associate" screen instead of the enter PIN window.

This still occurs in the latest 6.32 release downloaded 30 mins ago.
