I have set up a system using a star sp300(serial and yes I know serial sucks)) and cash draw. The only problem I am having is getting the drawer to open properly. If I set it to com and run the test draw using a serial1.bat that contains "echo . >com1" the . being a ^G echoed into the file it opens fine. So it would seem that ^G is the opening code for this drawer. ^G works out to 94 71 dec I believe and if I enter that into the posconfg and test it it will not work. i have tried both setting the open tp com and then selecting serial1.bat "works in test mode but not with till working" and by doing the mode / redirect lpt to com trick and then setting the drawer open to lpt and entering the 94 71, This test does not work btw. anyone have any other ideas???

Control G is ASCII 7. Star can also use ASCII 25 to open the drawer.

OK - so your cash drawer is connected to the docket printer. Please note that you
do not use any of the serial?.bat files when your drawer is fired by the printer. In POSCONFIG, set the code to be sent to the printer and enter the code that will make your printer fire the drawer. A list of the codes can be fount at
http://pages.prodigy.net/daleharris/popopen.htm. For my old Star SP200, the "general" Star code worked a treat - 27, 7, 11, 55, 7.
Trip codes.

You don't need to enter all those codes for the SP200. ASCII 7 alone will trip the drawer connected to the SP200.
