I use POS for my software company. We haven't gone public yet and are only marketing to Small to Medium businesses. None of our software is distributed to the public except specially licensed trial copies to lucky individuals who could possibly connect us to a large company.

I didn't read the instructions (okay, so I read the Groups instructions). It's pretty easy to figure out, it's pretty much a no brainer.

I think that the DOS interface is cool. It's nice to use the keyboard. Most of other programs I have tested were annoying because you had to spend time finding the right button on the screen for what you want to do.

I think it would be cool if you created a program that you would download separately from the POS that would allow a manager to monitor the status of each terminal - e.g. "shut down" would mean the register is not running, "inactive" would mean nothing is happening (no sale), "in sale" would mean a sale is going on, "active" would mean something other than a sale is going on, "error" would mean something is going wrong,
"access denied" would mean someone had entered a wrong password, etc. Then it would have a way to see a log or something for each register which would have the time and what happened listed. Another cool thing would be if there was a way to control a registers basic functions - e.g. lock, close, reports, etc.

There is an undocumented program that you received when you downloaded the POS software. (It is undocumented becuse I have never really finished it)

REMOTE.EXE will read the pole display output (even if you do not use the pole display) from up to 6 different registers on the same network and display the information in 6 windows on the screen. Check it out.

You can control the register's basic functions only be setting up passwords for them. Go to the "Passwords" feature of the POSCONFG.EXE program.
