After testing some scale prices, some prices may be one cent higher or lower in the subtotal field, but the correct amount on the scale barcode is displayed in the item/description/price field.

1kg price = 4.29

Default Barcode = 2963947008400
Scale Barcode = 2963947009998

Price shows up at 9.99 in transaction, but 9.98 in subtotal.

I have seen that happen to me too, with the Sub-Total thing, usually it happens to me when I have 2 digits past the decimal point in the Quantity field (It might happen with 3, I don't usually do 3.) and it has always been one cent higher for me, never lower.
