Feature Idea

I love ur pos program - here's an idea:

When you release updates, we have to download ALL pos again. Wouldn't it be easier if you could release a small 'update' program to pos

bdude,

It's easier and smaller to upload one single zip for Dale. Also, his site and files are hosted on personal webspace - which means he doesn't have a lot of free space to play with - plus - putting individual files in updates would be a time consuming task.

Plus, DHPOS isn't a massive download, it is under a meg after all, and by downloading a full zip you ensure the supporting files are also up to date.

Updates

Post by Dale Harris » Sat Aug 21, 2004 8:55 am

bdude,

What Andrew said is correct. When I update the program, particularly if there is more that one new feature, several of the .EXE files have changed and of course the REGISTER.TXT file, which is the user's guide for the program, has also changed. In some of the .EXE files only a couple of lines of code may be different but the new features will not work without them and there is no way to send out only part of an .EXE file.

If I sent only the .EXE files and the REGISTER.TXT file then the resulting file would not be significantly smaller than sending the whole thing. So I may as well.
Dale
