Over the last month or so I have received a couple of reports of the POS.EXE program dies and reports an "Out of stack space" error.

I believe I have this problem fixed in version 6.39L which can be downloaded here http://dhpos.com/pos639l2.zip Can you download it and install it? This has the exact same features of version 6.39K and you can see the latest features here http://dhpos.com/new_bug.htm

I do not know what version you currently have but if it is several versions earlier than 6.39K you will probably want to follow the upgrade instructions here http://dhpos.com/upgrade.htm#current

Please post back to me in a few days and let me know if there are any problem with version 6.39L. If you currently have version 6.39K then you should not notice any differences in version 6.39L. And actually that is what you are testing. Does 6.39L work exactly the same as version 6.39K ?

Thanks,
Dale

pos 6.39L problem returning to Main Menu

Hey Dale,
I was using version 6.39j2 and upgraded to 6.39L.
After I finish a transaction under Purchase from the main menu I cannot get back to the main menu. Neither the [Esc] key or the F11 key return me to the main menu.
When I press one of These keys the screen flashes quickly to gray then re-draws back to the Purchase screen. (I guess on a fast PC i might not see the flash). At this point I have to kill the dos window to get out of the program.

All other items on the Main Menu work fine. I can select them, run their respective processes and then [Esc] or [F11] back to the Main Menu.

Crazy as it may seem, I did back up the data which allowed me to return to my 6.39j2 version. Restoring this made the problem go away.

I tried copying just the POS.EXE (6.39L) and the problem returned.
Then went back and copied the POS.EXE (6.39j2) and NO problem.

I created a new Dir and a fresh (6.39L) install and set it up as a minimal and the same problem occurs.

Thanks,
bruce
