I came across this three days ago but I was off line. I think this urgent.
If a sale is keyed up and is on the purchise screen ready for finalizing the sale and the escape key is pressed the sale disapears , However the items that were on the screen are deducted from the Stock table inventory . I tested this three times with the same result.

I think that has been fix. I have tried it in version 639I and it does not work.

So I would say the best thing for you to do is upgrade to this version.
