Hallo,
I'm using this amazing free POS software and it works very good. Thanks to Dale.
The only problem: I have a cash drawer from an old register. It has no computer- or RJ-11 plug, just a few cables which were connected to the old register.
There is no receipt printer just a common pc printer.
Is there a way to connect the cash drawer to any port of the computer (maybe parallel port, but which pins to use)?
Or do I need an interface and where can I buy or can I build it easily on my own?
Maybe it is not worth trying it?!
Sorry for my bad english but thanks for helping me!!!

Cash drawers
Mike,
Here is everything I know about cash drawers http://keyhut.com/popopen2.htm
Unfortunately for anyone to be able to offer more help you would have to tell us what kind of cables are attached to your drawer. Do they have sockets on the end of them? What kind? Are they serial cables?
If the cables are non-standard and specific to that brand of cash register then it is possible that only the manufacturer of the cash register would have the information you need.
