I don't think there is, but someone asked me today, 'Is there any way that you can find out from the system the date of last sale of an item in the stock table?'
Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Dale, I'm pretty certain it can be done for any period within the last 12 months by saving your History by Stock # report for all items as a data file. Then you open it as a comma delimited file in Excel and just do a search for the item # you're interested in in column 1. I haven't posted enough data to test it yet but I will do in the next coupla days. But I'm pretty certain it'll work OK from the layout of the data I have looked at.
PS - got another little question for you about item cost figures in another thread I've just opened. Be interested in your comments

Re: Nope.
Dale, been thinking about this one. There is some kind of date link egDale Harris wrote:Rollerball,
The program does not keep track of when any stock item was sold.
Run sales history report for last 6 months, save as a data file, open data file in Excel and search for certain Product Code in column 1. Comes up blank.
Run sales history report for last 7 months, do same as above and the Product Number is found.
Conclusion - this product was last sold 7 months ago. Useful info when looking for slow movers.
Could this info be incorporated in any way into some kind of report? I don't know because I don't know how the info is filed

Also, what if you never ever printed off your journal and let it run constantly from the beginning of the year - would you miss anything so long as you printed off your closing reports? Because you could just look at that in Excel and do a search for the Product Number with 'Find All' - that would give it to you by transaction date.
Last one - when you hit 5. Void on the main menu, it goes into a transaction search mode by transaction number that shows transaction date. Could a 'search by Product Number' facility be added to that?
