We sell table meats from our farm. I realize that DHPOS works well for portion control exact weight items, but how would I program in stock items, say, 100 chickens ranging from 3 to 5 lbs costing $2.49/lb.? We sell by the chicken so the final price for each one will vary according to the weight.

thanks a cluckload.

Peight,

Assuming that you sell the item per pound then when you enter the item into the stock table us the price per pound as the price. So if the price per pound is 2.36 then you would enter a chicken like this...

<pre>STOCK NUMBER DESCRIPTION PRICE
123456789012 CHICKEN 2.36</PRE>

Then when ringing up the item into a sale when you get to the "Quantity" input you would enter the weight of the item in pounds, like "1.87" The program will then correctly calculate the total price for the item as $4.41 rounding off to the nearest penny.

If you have a scale that will print barcode labels labels read this http://keyhut.com/postip5.htm#scale
