This has been brought up randomly, however....other than the few vague requests from persons not of this forum, no real demand has been felt for such an application. Even if there was, the software regarding airports is fairly standardized. Travel Agents and Airlines have spent years developing this universal system for reporting and recording data concerning flights. Now what these standards are, and how it all works is not something I know, but I can tell you finding someone willing to sitdown and develop the software to interface with all that for free will be a daunting task. I think what "prefer not to say" is after is more along the lines of a ticketing system for use in an airport. Which upon mild research, I discovered that indeed it is the airline that provides and operates the software, not the airport. It does have a POS aspect to it, only in that it records the collection of payment for services rendered.....but that's really not a POS application. I would be more like one, if you were to say buy a plane ticket, a bag of chips, soda and a few candy bars for the ride....all at the same desk. Which you don't...would be nice if you could, but the FAA would undoubtably have something to say against the notion.
DHPOS would be a fine application for the gift shop, duty-free store, and snack bar at the airport.
SIM Airport isn't really it either, that's more about designing the airport for form and functionality. Much like SIM City, Traffic Giant, and my personal favorite Rollercoaster Tycoon.
I'm thinking whoever this is, wants to visit the land of makebelive...and play airport for the day. Because even in the smallest of airports, it's still the airline who handles the ticketing....and I'm hoping that he/she's not starting up a small airline. After all, you don't 'drive' a plane....you 'fly' it.

Knowing the government, they would probably frown upon DHPOS because it doesn't conform to their 500-page Cash Register/POS System Spec.
