Searching the stock table

Post by ToPS » Mon Jan 16, 2006 7:07 pm

1.) When searching the stock table from THE RECEIVING PROGRAM ONLY, and searching by description the word(s) that are typed are displayed in uppercase only and will only yield a result if the stock table description is also in uppercase.

The caps lock key makes no difference.

Using 6.37C - searching from any other location works fine.

2.) Is there a reason why the repeat seach function is assigned to different keys when searching from different "locations"
e.g. During a sale = F1
File maintenance = 9
Can sometimes be confusing.

Still very much impressed by this program an it's ease of use. THANK YOU
THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Eagerly and patiently waiting for sales on account feature.[/b]

Searching

ToPS,

Well the real answer is that I never thought that anyone would want to use lowercase characters in the descriptions. When it was beaten into my head that they would, I made changes to the program to allow it and to search for it. It just slipped my mind to fix it for the RECEIVE.EXE program and no one until now has pointed out that I have, once again, screwed up. Thanks, piles. :?

However the fix is not at all complicated so I should have it up shortly (a day or so.)

The "repeat search" uses different keys because at different places the keys used in other places were already being used for other things in this place or because the input routine in one place was different than the one being used in the other place and that routine did not allow the use of that key. Confused? Me too, so please do not ask me to explain further.

Thank you Dale for the answer - It does make sense.

You should't worry, your score on screw-ups versus great work is like employees versus stock items.
THAT is 56 versus 13000 :)

kEEp uP the GREAT wOrK!!

Still happily DHPOSsing
