Hi, Not spoke to you all in a little while, How are we all,

anyway, First things first

I use multiple suers to log in to my pc, so when i try to put pos on my netwrok i find that the space provided to input the network path isnt big enough, is there any chance of increasing this space in pos.exe and in price checker?

Secondly (Off question)

Does anyone know of a free programme where my empoloyees can order new products for example like if we run low of a product they can log into this software and punch in the info, then later i can log on see hwat needs ordered and approve and etc..

If this makeds no scence at all let me know, cause i think i have confused myself. :D

First of all in my exprence the fiild keeps growning and or your text passes by.

Second the inventory feature in the stock table will tell you when you need more of something and you can print a report telling you how many you have/how many you need to order as for the punch in the amount needed program there is program but not for free i could write up a little program to do that if you'd like.

PATH / Purchase orders

Gary,

The problem with allowing a longer PATH is not the place where you type it but where it is stored. The PATH is stored in the ??????.POS file and there is stuff just before it and just after it in the file, so no place for more characters. I could move it to a different part of the file but that would mean that all the current PATHs out there would disappear when the new program file is used. This would not make me popular with the proletariat. So an alternate solution that would be real popular with everyone else but probably not you would be to leave the PATH just as it is but you move the files to a location that would require a much shorter PATH name.

When I created the PATH feature I thought that I allowed enough characters for it to allow any reasonable PATH to be entered, I guess not. However if you have the POS folder in a sub folder of a sub folder of a sub folder of a sub folder of a sub folder then that may not be reasonable. Would it be possible to move all of your POS folders to a position just below the root? That would make for much shorter PATHs.

As far as a program for purchasing new merchandise for your store, have you looked into the PURCHASE.EXE program that comes with POS? Here a the instructions http://keyhut.com/postip9.htm#purchase

Gary,

You already have the program PURCHASE.EXE in the folder with the other cash register program files. Here are the instructions for it http://keyhut.com/postip9.htm#purchase

Make the network location:
E.g. if the network location might be this
\\store_sever\apps\POS\global\
under My computer you can map it to a drive letter for example Z:
so when you click on "Z:" it takes you dirrectly to \\store_sever\apps\POS\global\
