Upgrade to XP
Post

Hi all,
I really hope that someone out there can help me out. I have had DHPOS for over a year now running on a Windows 98 SE Machine. Recently the hardrive crashed and I decided to get a new machine and upgrade to XP professional. I have reloaded DHPOS 6.22 and thought I would just test the serial cash draw (that works on windows 98 without a problem). In POSCONFIG i open cash draw using serial 1 to test but i get a Write failure writing to device com1?. The message comes up on all the other tests. So I thought it must be a XP problem with the cash draw. I then tried to just double click on the serial1.bat file in the POS folder and THE DRAW OPENS!!!! It just doesnt want to do it through the software. Any ideas?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards

Shaun,
Well you just got to love XP. The best option to open a serial cash drawer attached to the COM1: port under Windows XP is SERIAL3.BAT however this will require that the folder that holds the POS program files also contains a program file CDK.EXE which comes with the POS program. Could you please check to see if CDK.EXE is in the folder containing the other POS program files. If it does not please contact me and I will send you the CDK.EXE file.
