Cutter problem

Post by aculbe » Wed Oct 03, 2007 9:25 am

On MicroPos WTP-150 printer set to continous printing have problem with cutter. If the cutter codes (from manual) are setup, the printer pulls out long blank tape without printing and then cut the paper. Without codes printer prints receipts normally but doesn`t cuts the paper.

aculbe,

Well the first question is what are the cutter codes that you found in the manual?

Did you enter them correctly using the decimal values.

Is there any possibility that the codes in the manual are incorrect?

the other thing it could be if the code is put in the wrong place i.e. cutter code put in the placse where you put the code for opeing the cash drawer. will also cause this problem

aculbe,

It looks like a good code to me assuming that you have it set to 27,109,0,0,0,0

What is the full cut setting? Try 27,105,0,0,0,0 and see what happens.

I fixed the cutter. It works properly. Thanks. Only the cash drawer does`t open. Is there possible that the wires of the drawer arent fixed in right order to the printer? The codes for drawer: GENERAL PULSE ESC p, GENERATE PULSE AT REAL TIME DLE DC4.
The further problem is that if DHPOS runs in DOSBox the codepage is regular (in POSCONFIG and POS cp852) (F3 another charset) but if the programme is set to fullscreen mode cp change to another (I think cp 437). AUTOEXEC.NT is set to chcp 852.

We olso have problem that the printer cutter can't cut. We had try before the tactic that given by dale but still can not. The brand of printer that we use are OEM TM-200 made in Taiwan. It is similiar with Epson TM88ii.

The cash drawer olso can not open. Is that if the printer can print and the cutter can cut so means the cash drawer can open automatically?

Hope Dale can help us to settle this problem. We had face this problem so long.....

Thanks very much.....

Ecoolcollection,

Where do I start?

First of all tell me that your printer does not connect to the computer through the serial port.

Does the printer print? If the printer is not printing then it also will not pop open the cash drawer or cut.

You say that your Taiwanese printer is like an Epson, which Epson? Different Epsons can use different codes for opening up the cash drawer and cutting.

Even if your printer is "like" an Epson that does not neccessarally mean that it will use Epson control codes.

And finally did you enter the codes into "Open cash drawer" and "printer setup" features of the POSCONFG.EXE program? And in the "Open cash drawer" feature do you have it set to "Printer"?

Ecoolcollection,

What are the actual control codes you have entered for opening the cash drawer and activating the cutter?

Hi Dale...

We had been try 27,112,0,25,250 for cash drawer & 27,109 for printer.
But still cannot.

Now we use the APRINT to print the receipt out.

Once again , our printer is OEM TM200 Thermal Receipt Printer with support for serial (RS-232) 32k.

And we use the Window XP home edition XP2 , it is have any problem on it.

Thanks,

Ecoolcollection,

Can I assume that the cash drawer is attached to the proper port in the receipt printer using the correct cable and that your printer actually has a cutter bar (many do not)?

Well those are correct codes for some Epson receipt printers, you can try some of the others.

However since you do not have an actual Epson printer it is very possible that no Epson codes will work for the printer you have.

But try this, set the "Open drawer" code to 65,66,67,68,69 and the cutter code to 86,87,88,89,90. These codes will not open the cash drawer or activate the cutter but the first code will print ABCDE on the receipt and the second will print VWXYZ. So now ring up a transaction and see if ABCDE and VWXYZ are printed anywhere on the receipt. If they are then DHPOS is sending the control codes to the printer, you are just using the wrong codes.

You have 3 options if the codes are being sent...

1. Try the other Epson codes on this page http://keyhut.com/popopen.htm

2. Contact the manufacturer of your printer and get the correct codes.

3. Get an actual Epson printer or any other printer that is listed on http://keyhut.com/popopen.htm

Hi Dale....

Our printer cutter can cut already, we use the code 27,109 and below the receipt appear -m. But the problem is the cash drawer still cannot pop out. So do we need to send the cash drawer code at POSconfig on open cash drawer? But when we press F4 send the code to cash drawer , the system will hang. We use the code 27,112.

So Dale this is our last problem.....hope you help us.....
If we can settle the cash drawer's problem , the software will very perfect for us.

Thanks,
EcoolCollection.

Ecoolcollection,

You did not say if you tried the ABCDE test to see if the open cash drawer code is being sent to the printer. There are various things that we can try to get your printer to work. However if you do not try them, or if you do not tell me the results of the trials, then there is nothing I can do to help you.

Below are all the codes I have for Epson receipt printers to open the cash drawer. Try each of them out and see if one of them will work.

27,112,48,55,121
27,112,0,25,250
27,70,0,50,50
27,112,32,25
27,112,0,64,240
27,112,48,25,250
27,112,0,50,250
27,25,247

Then tell me if one of them worked or if none of them worked.

Dale
