Coffeehouse use?

Post by laundrysoap » Wed Jan 03, 2007 3:01 am

So, do you think that it would be possible to use this software in a coffeehouse?

I am not good with computers, so if I could get a primer on coffeehouse use of this software (if possible), that'd be great!

Sure.

It'd be easy to setup, you'd setup your stock table with all the beverages, and ring them up like any other sale. You could even assign barcodes to them and strap them to the register for quick access.

This software is super powerful, it beats the other POS solutions I've tried (ComCash, QuickBooks POS, etc.) hands down in terms of ease of use, at first I had a lot of problems getting them networked, then I found a step by step tutorial, it's relatively easy.

And support is always a click away.

laundrysoap,

Actually a better idea that scanning barcodes for each item you want to ring up would be to use the "Groups" feature and set it to "Use stock table as default."

Then when you want to ring up an item the first 20 items in your stock table will be listed on the screen and you can pick the one you want by pressing a letter key, or scanning down to the item and pressing [ENTER] or typing in the displayed stock number. Once you ring up an item it becomes the default item and you can ring up another of the same item by just pressing [ENTER]. So to ring up 3 pieces of "4X4 KEY RINGS" all you would have to do is press [E] + [ENTER] + [ENTER]. Pretty slick.

If the item you want is not on the screen press [PAGE DOWN] to see the next 20.

If you have more than 60 items in your store then you can group the items in your store by type. Put all the coffees in one group, cakes in another, soft drinks in another. Then use one of the "Groups" options and you will be able to pick a group and then an item from that group to ring up.

Read this http://keyhut.com/postip6.htm#touch about using the "Groups" feature.

The program will also track tips for your employees paid at the register and it will print sales checks for an order that can be paid later at the register.

Coffee House use

Post by Robert_Nel » Sun Jan 07, 2007 2:11 am

Hi ,

I used DHPOS with great success in a Coffee Shop. After buying the business I installed a PC with DHPOS and got rid of the actual cash register. I issued the waitresses with a “moon bag” carried around their waists with a cash float. Each waitress rung their sales on DHPOS at the pc during the course of the day. At the end of the day I printed a sales report for each waitress and they had to balance their float and takings with the reports. I saved on staff costs by not having a cashier and each person was responsible for their own cash ups. I presently use DHPOS in a Bar type business.
