FREEDOS
Post

Heeelp.....
Has ANYONE ever managed to install FREEDOS?
It's all in English but......... it's like it's an alien language. Nothing works - the install CD just gives a string of code errors and stops - and the instructions for the diskette install refer to a completely different set of diskettes.
The writers are obviously very clever ........ but as the results of their labour can't apparently be used, all their effort is totally wasted.
Very sad

Ok ..... here I am answering my own posting. But if anyone is interested, the answer is YES.
But from my experience, unless you revel in pain, misery and grief, don't use the most recent distribution (Dec 2005) because NOTHING worked for me - floppy install, CD install. All totally NAFF.
I found the previous December 2004 distribution on the Swedish mirror site and the CD install went like dream. Now have DHPOS working absolutely fine in FREEDOS.
