Manual

Post by ProDeZigner » Thu Feb 09, 2006 2:01 am

I'm going to print a manual out for the guys I'm going to work with. Since they really don't know a lot about computers and they need help they can just refer to it... question is... how often is the manual updated? I've got an Associates Degree in Graphic Design and I'm going to design an actual 'print manual' for print and take it to Office Depot (since we don't have a Kinkos).

As far as I know, the REGISTER.TXT manual gets updated every new release - if changes are required.

I have a printed copy of the POS Manual in a 3" binder. I just have a divider at the back titled "updates" where I just add the new information as needed.

ProDeZigner,

Guest is correct, the manual is updated whenever the program is updated with new features.

If you are going to print the manual you may want to print the MS Word version instead of the plain text version. Same stuff, it just looks a whole lot better. You can download it here http://keyhut.com/register.doc

Yeah, I downloaded the MS Word version, and turned on the 'Show Formatting' feature... I was just going to take the TXT file and convert it into a 'more clean' format. Lots of un-needed formatting in the .DOC file... so I'll see if I can't spruce it up a bit. My next goal is to make a nice looking icon for DHPOS... I really love this software. Dale really has set a standard for free software. It's got my support as a designer. I'll upload everything I make for distribution.
