Sometimes after installing Service Pack 2 or even for no reason at all Windows XP will not run DOS software (like the software offered for download here) and will not run 16 bit Windows software either.
This is a Windows XP problem not a problem with your application software. To fix the problem you must fix Windows XP. Here is how you do it...

DOS Problems
Hi,
I recently installed Xp Sp2 on my PC and now I can no longer use your POS system, I followed the instructions that you provided in the above message but it does not work, and I would like to know how to get into the SystemRoot%\System32 folder, as I pasted the files in the windows system32 folder and don't know if it's correct.
Thanx for the great service and for the great Program

Uh...you don't just copy those files - they need to be extracted properly. Dale's message is a duplicate of the Microsoft knowledgebase article at http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;324767
I've just found a self extracting file if you're not too confident with extracting the files manually to fix the problem.

Download and run that, it will point to your system32 folder, click UNZIP. That's it - should fix the problem.
