This version allows you to void "return" transactions.

It also fixes a screen formatting bug on the sale screen when you use a rounding factor of 1

compliments again on your wonderful program, if possible how hard would it be to automate parking with either 1 , 2,3 .. a, b,c etc. instead of having the sales person enter a parking # themself as i realize mistakes are often made every now and then

Parking lot

Post by Dale Harris » Tue Apr 05, 2005 12:23 pm

Guest,

Please remember that the sale parking lot is used under many different situations.

Some stores will only use it to park one or two sales when customers come to the weird realization that they are actually going to have to, you know, PAY for their purchase. Apparently these customers have gone through their entire lives without buying anything and the concept of actually getting the money out of their purse or wallet is totally beyond their comprehension. So as they begin the laborious and intricate process of locating, counting, and dispensing their money, which is apparently going to take the rest of the day, you have a line of other customers waiting to be checked out. So you stick the transaction into the parking lot and eveyone else gets on with their lives while that customer is counting pennies. In this case your suggestion may work.

However sometimes this is used in restaurants to park sales checks. In this case it is possilbe that all 75 parking spots will be used. Parking slots will have to be labeled with something descriptive so you can find the correct one, like the table number and employee number. 1203 could be table 12, waitress 3.

And some stores use the parking lot to store customer's accounts that may not be paid for several days to months. Then they will have to use something like the first 4 letters of the customer's name to park the sales. In these last two cases your suggestion will not work.

So I think that I am going to leave it the way it is but thanks for the suggestion.
Dale
