Changing descriptions on Coupon/Unit Reductions

Post by bdude » Sat Mar 05, 2005 11:04 pm

Is there any way possible to change the descriptions printed on the reciept instead of COUPON/UNIT REDUC. E.g 2-4-1 MUFFINS. E.g in a busy supermarket , would allow customers to see how much was reduced per coupon

I don't think it would have a great impact.

The supermarket I used to work at gave up trying to keep up with all the coupon barcodes issued by vendors. In the end we used a button (similar to a reduction in DHPOS) to apply a coupon which appeared on the receipt as "(-) VENDOR COUPON".

Use of said coupon button for amounts over $1 required a supervisor key.

Anyway, descriptions aren't saved in a sale, even if sales recording is on - it uses the stock numbers to look up the names when you use functions such as Void.

Andrew.

I mean this can be used for your own coupons given to customers, e.g 2 for $1.00, so the consumer can identify how much they saved.
Maybe not in big supermarkets, but small retail.
Also, if you could stock number these, you could see buy 'sales' of the coupon how popular it was

The auto-coupon thing has been discussed before and sits on Dale's TAI (Think About It) pile as far as I know.
