Hey, there... I just downloaded this wonderful software this evening, and let me just say--amazing!
But I'm having an issue trying to use my USB, regular computer printer (not receipt) under Windows 2000. I've got Apring running in the background, and it will not print a receipt on a closed sale.
The weird thing is that the following printouts HAVE worked on my system:
- The diagnostic sample/test receipt from the config utility
- Open and close management reports
- Sales tickets for parked transactions.
But when I go to print a receipt after completing a transaction, nothing at all happens... anyone know what could be happening? The POS program asks if I would like to print a receipt, and I respond YES, but it doesn't seem to make any attempt to work.
Thanks for your help!
Brandon
ps--A more minor problem is that the printouts I do get are in a font that doesn't work well. It's Arial or something, so the columns do not line up. Is there any way to change the font that aprint.exe sends to the printer, or does anyone know how to change the default font of my HP Deskjet 840C? Thanks again! B

Brandon,
If you go to "Printer setup" and set "Ask before printing receipt" to "NO" and then return to the POS.EXE program and ring up a sale, will the receipt print then?
You will have to ask the author of APRINT, Jon Simpson, about the font thing. Unfortunatly he is gone for the next week.

That worked very well!
Thanks for the tip about disabling that question--now it prints a receipt every time. I'll need to ask about the font issue in another week or so, I suppose.
The weird thing is that the FIRST printout made when you start the register is in a good, fixed-width font. Doesn't matter what the printout is--receipt, report, etc. But all subsequent prinouts use Arial font.
Hmm, very odd... Brandon
