POS
Crocker,
Since I do not have a pocket PC, and in fact I have never even seen a pocket PC, and have no idea what the specifications of a pocket PC are (Does it have function keys? Will it run DOS/QuickBASIC? Does it have enough memory?) I have no idea what it would take to get a version of my POS to run on a pocket PC.
But figure at about $200 to $300 per week (which is dirt cheap) if I had to start over with a new but similar language (a month or two to learn it) and then 1 to 2 years to write the new code, that would come out to $9,526 to $33,774. Plus the cost of a pocket PC and the cost of the language. This assumes that I can do it at all.
Since this would also use up all of my programming time that means that there would be no more additional features in the regular version of POS. You may want to take a poll here to ask the other users if they wish to forgo new POS features for the next year or two so that you can get your version.

Great Crocker
Crocker,
Well that will save the cost of the language and if Jon had the source code for POS (which he does not) it would also save the 1 to 2 months needed to learn VB since he already know VB.
However that still leaves 1 to 2 years of programming time at $200 to $300 per week assuming that Jon would charge that little and had the time to kill.
But even that would not work because Jon does not have the POS source code.

You seem to be ignoring the fact that such a project would take Months, at least, and more likely at least a year. Aside from this, Alan has demonstrated that you can run POS on pocket DOS, and that it runs with respectable speed. If you were to send Dale of myself a pocket PC, the most you could expect in any reasonable amount of time would be detailed instructions on how to get POS to run on the device.
That said, I think you'll find that the pocket PC is a poor platform for running POS. I'm not saying here it's a poor platform for POS software in general, or for software that works with POS, for inventory management or other things... I'm just saying, POS, being a DOS program, does not display well on those little tiny screens.
The palmtop platform, while not ideal, has a much higher horizontal resolution, the XT-CE emulator manages to make usable as a CGA graphics screen. This means, that in theory, the XT-CE emulator should be able to run POS, and on a machine with a real keyboard, at that. The XT-CE emulator runs succesfully on my Casio A-11 palmtop, but I don't have enough memory to test POS on it as well (I have run qbasic on it, however). If you wish to provide the tools necessary, I will be glad to setup and install POS on one of these devices for you, although I can't guarantee that it can actually be done until I have one with a bit more memory to try it on.
The HP660LX, and maybe even the HP300LX series (320, 360) would probably be suitable.
